FIFTH SUNDAY OF ORDINARY TIME

February 5, 2012

THEME FOR THE FIFTH SUNDAY OF ORDINARY TIME: This could be a dull or depressing time of the year.  The weather is often bad in many parts of our country.  We experience a certain “let down” after Christmas and before Easter.  Life can be drudgery for many of us.  But Christ is near to lift us from our depression.  He comes to bring us Good News.

GRATEFUL THANKS: In the name of the Oblates, I wish to thank all those who supported and participated in the Oblate Annual Appeal.  A letter will be forthcoming from the Provincial Office once all the returns are made.  Thanks so much for your love and prayers.

SISTER PETRA’S MEMORIAL/CELEBRATION:  Monday February 13th will be a month since Sister Petra’s death.  To honor her and for all those who knew her, we will have a special gathering to give thanks and remember her for touching our lives.  If you are able, please join us in the Church at 7 PM

FOURTH SUNDAY OF ORDINARY TIME

JANUARY 29, 2012

THEME FOR THE FOURTH SUNDAY OF ORDINARY TIME:  God does not speak to us in a vague or confused manner. He speaks a definite message of truth.  In ancient times, God sent the prophets in the spirit of Moses to be sure guides in the way of truth.  In the fullness of time, Jesus came and spoke with absolute authority. God still speaks to us in the living voice of his Church. Let us always be open to his word and truth. This week is Catholic Schools Week.
